Am I wrong for pushing my wife to use her entire savings for our future home?

Summary:

My wife won’t tap into her shared funds for our house down payment, leaving most costs on me. Am I at fault for insisting we use these resources for our future home?

I believe that pushing your spouse to use her entire savings may not be the best approach when it comes to such important decisions. In my experience, both sides should have an equal say in financial matters, especially when it concerns significant investments like buying a house. This ensures that both parties feel secure and valued. It might be beneficial to discuss alternative arrangements or even consult a financial advisor to understand the full implications and work out a plan that respects both of your needs and contributions.

I see where you’re coming from, but have you both explored what fairness looks like for each of you? Sometimes taking time to really listen might reveal a middle ground that works better for both. What would feel balanced to you both?

i feel maybe she isnt ready to risk all her savins. pushing too hard can lead to trust issues. maybe a chill convo about risk and compromise would work better. it’s a big step and both need to feel ok with it.
