Hey everyone!
I’m thinking about getting a place in Levi or Ylläs. These spots have really caught my eye. The plan is to use it for family trips and rent it out when we’re not there.
I’ve heard good things from some companies about the property market there. They say there aren’t many places available, you can charge decent rent, and the value goes up each year. Plus, more tourists are coming in summer and winter.
But I’m wondering if this is really true. Is everyone building right now? Will there be too many houses soon?
Also, are there any hidden costs or tax stuff I should know about? And is Finland thinking about changing rules for short-term rentals?
Any tips or thoughts would be great. Thanks!
Have you checked out the local community vibes in Levi and Ylläs? I’m curious how the residents feel about tourists and rental properties. What’s the off-season like there? It’d be cool to hear about your experiences if you’ve visited. Any favorite spots or activities you’re excited about?
hey mate, i’ve got a cabin near ylläs. its been pretty good for us. the rental income covers most costs but watch out for property taxes n maintenance. summer business is picking up but winter’s still king. dunno bout new build projects but havent seen many. best advice? do ur research n visit in person b4 buying
I’ve been involved in property investments in Lapland for several years now. While Levi and Ylläs are indeed attractive markets, it’s crucial to approach with caution. The rental demand is seasonal, peaking during winter months. Summer tourism is growing, but it’s not yet comparable.
Regarding property value appreciation, it’s been steady but not dramatic. The market isn’t oversaturated, but due diligence is key. Hidden costs can include higher maintenance due to harsh winters and potentially complex tax situations for non-residents.
Finland hasn’t indicated major changes to short-term rental regulations, but it’s wise to stay informed. My advice? Thoroughly analyze the financials, consider the long-term prospects, and don’t rely solely on agent promises. A personal visit during both peak and off-seasons can provide invaluable insights.
