I observed a fee called “Real Estate Taxes” on my January rent invoice and reached out several times to my apartment management. Today, I finally received a response from one of the supervisors. I was not informed ahead of time about any added charges resembling lifestyle fees. Has anyone encountered a similar situation? Is it valid for them to bill this fee while labeling it as a tax?
