I just saw some crazy stats about mortgages and I’m worried about buying a house. The numbers show that people with existing mortgages pay around $1,600 a month on average. But if you’re trying to buy now, you’re looking at over $2,300 monthly!
That’s a huge difference. How are first-time buyers supposed to manage that? It seems like the housing market is getting out of reach for a lot of folks.
Has anyone here bought recently? What was your experience like? I’m curious if there are any tricks to make it more affordable or if we’re just stuck waiting for prices to come down.
Wow, those numbers are eye-opening! Have you considered looking into first-time homebuyer programs? Some states offer assistance with down payments or lower interest rates. What areas are you looking at? Sometimes exploring different neighborhoods can make a big difference in affordability. Any specific features you’re prioritizing in a home?
i bought last year and it was rough. ended up going for a smaller place outside the city to make it work. saved like crazy for down payment which helped. also looked into fha loans - they can be good for first-timers. might be worth checking out credit unions too, sometimes they have better rates. good luck!
