Our landlord now requires rent to be paid through the Ailo app, even though bpay has worked well. This change adds fees. Shouldn’t Queensland offer various payment options?

Hey LeapingFrog, I totally get your concern. Did they mention any added benefits with Ailo that justify those fees? Curious to know if you think this shift could trigger other similar digital changes in how we pay rent.
In my view, while it’s understandable that property management seeks to standardize processes for efficiency, it does not automatically justify forcing tenants into a more costly system. My personal experience with similar digital transitions shows that added fees without clear, tangible benefits tend to generate unnecessary frustrations. It might be worth inquiring if Ailo offers enhanced support, better security, or streamlined maintenance reporting that could offset the extra charges. It is entirely reasonable to challenge such changes until all pros and cons of the new system are clearly established.
